Run Oracle database workloads with AWS managed database

Self-managed Oracle workloads can be time-consuming. Organizations are looking at ways to free up their valuable Oracle DBA resources and shift their efforts to activities that are business enablers. The best way is to leverage the power of fully managed databases in the cloud. In this session, we share the considerations for moving self-managed Oracle Databases to Amazon RDS for Oracle and explain the most efficient way to do it. We showcase the benefits of a managed database operating model, discuss transformative cost saving techniques, and illustrate the best practice migration patterns. We also demonstrate the migration of an on-premise Oracle database to Amazon RDS for Oracle with minimal downtime. To conclude, we highlight the fundamentals in a successful migration including tools and mechanisms available to deliver the smooth transition plus additional benefits attained for using purpose-built database like Amazon Aurora Postgres.
