Often, we see applications that have grown over time into what we call monoliths, where all the components and services of the application exist on a single server or database. This makes changing these applications really hard and adding new features nearly impossible, as to change one thing impacts the whole. In this session we will learn what patterns we can adopt to help us move away from a monolith style of application into a more loosely coupled, distributed application that runs natively on AWS. These patterns not only aid the migration of such applications into cloud but also increase the speed at which the application can adopt new features, enabling it to stay current in an ever changing landscape.
