SQL Server on AWS: Choosing the right strategy (Level 300)

Customers have been running Microsoft Workloads on AWS for over 12 years, longer than any other cloud provider. In this session, learn about the journey of migrating Microsoft SQL Server to AWS. While there is no one-size-fits-all approach for migrating SQL Server workloads to the cloud, there are three primary ways to move SQL Server-based applications to AWS. You can choose to lift and shift to Amazon EC2 or move to fully managed Amazon RDS or modernize with AWS purpose built databases. We explain the benefit of each approach to make the right choice and illustrate on the multiple architectural patterns for efficient migration of Microsoft SQL Server to different target platforms in AWS. The session also walks through available tools and services like AWS Database Migration Service, AWS Schema Conversion Tool, AWS Snow devices, AWS Storage Gateway and AWS DataSync to support you in your migration journey. Uncover and learn more about strategies and best practices to migrate or modernize your SQL Server workloads on AWS.
